With 1262 cattle yarded at NVLX Wodonga processors were keen to get what they could from an offering which was mostly showing the condition expected of cattle which are coming through a dry and relatively cold season.

Paull and Scollard Landmark, Wodonga livestock agent Tim Robinson thought the market 'firm' on current sales with limited numbers coming forward and demand for meat still high.
"We had a good yarding but there are lots of cattle showing the effects of the cold weather," he said.
"The cow market has lifted in the past few weeks as buyers recognise numbers could be scarce in the spring."
There was a good offering of forward store steers with a line of Poll Herefords offered by D.H and M.A Wentworth, Cookardinia weighing 374kg sold for $1230 while B.E and J.A Madgwick, Strathmerton, Victoria sold 11 Angus weighing 393kg for $1180 and P and A Stevenson, Tallangatta, Vic received $1040 for their 14 Angus weighing 358Kg.
A very good line of 19 Hereford cows, Wirruna-blood and PTIC to Tulagi Angus bulls and weighing 599kg sold for $1330.
Interest in heifers saw P and E Howell, Myrtleford, Vic sell eight Jarobee and Witherswood-blood Angus weighing 360kg for $1055 and Hindleton Rural, Bullioh, Vic sold ten Coonamurra-blood Angus weighing 336kg for $990.
There was strong competition from processors competing with local restockers for the better lines while buyers from Wangaratta and Benalla weighed in when they could.
The sale was conducted by Wodonga agents, Elders and Paull and Scollard Landmark.
