HER dust coat was several sizes too big, but that didn't deter Olivia Dimmick, 9, of Wellington. She could handle a beast as well as the best of leaders at the 2019 Dubbo Charolais National show and sale last Friday.
Olivia was one of 53 young cattle enthusiasts aged from seven to 24 years who participated in the 2019 Charolais National Youth Stampede of four days at Dubbo showground last week, whole learnt all things related to beef cattle care, terminology, grooming,halter making and ringcraft before parading competitions on Saturday.
During Friday's show and sale, many of the youngsters assisted with leading stock during judging by Gary Wilkinson, Colombian Poll Herefords, Binnaway.
It was in the Silver Calf Championship where Olivia found fame as she led a young steer, Myona Pig, to win the calf under 375 kilograms class for exhibitors Beverley Hogland and Stephen Martin, Myona stud, Coonamble.
