Just under 1000 cattle met good competition from the first through to the last pens reulting in a firm to dearer market at the Tamworth store cattle sale last Friday with cattle heading to Dorrigo and out west as well as staying locally.
Cows sold to $1280 ($1060 last sale) for Angus cows 5-6 years, PTIC to Heart Angus bulls sold for Hawks Nest, while Limflex cows 6-7 years with calves sold to $1230 ($1200 last sale) for the Ellison family whose PTIC cow portion of the Ellison fetched to $1185.
Weaner steers sold to $800 ($760 last sale) for crossbred steers of the Parry Trust while weaned Hereford and Angus steers with frame and weight sold by IML made $610. Yard weaned Angus calves sold for the Hamilton family to $635
Shorthorn steers started on crop sold for Radburns Rural, Walcha, made $685.
Vendor bred Angus steers of Kate and Nathan Eather, Bellata topped at $700.
Black baldy, vendor bred steers for Joyce family, Limbri, made $815 and Santa Gertrudis steers made $835.
Heifers sold to $665 ($720 last sale) for Angus heifers for CD Walker. Weaned Angus heifers from Parry Trust sold to $600 and Eather family made $470.
