THE Collins family of Glenwarrah Hereford and Brooksby Angus studs sold 48 bulls of the 81 on offer during their July 24 on-property sale to achieve a 59 per cent clearance and $8500 sale top.

Overall 33 Angus bulls sold of the 54 on offer to average $4227 and top at $8500, while 15 Herefords sold of 27 on offer to average $4700 and top at $7000, three times.
Keith and Noelene Googe of Rosevale Angus, Muswellbrook paid the top money of $8500 for Brooksby Franklin P027, a yearling bull of Wattletop bloodlines.
Mr Googe said he had is eyes on Franklin as he was a top performance bull with a strong Wattletop pedigree. He purchased Wattletop's $20,000 sale-topper in 2015 and was really happy to support the Collins family.
"Franklin's performance numbers are really phenomenal and his temperament is exceptional," Mr Googe said.
While the Googes have been breeding Angus for 30 years, they established their stud herd 20 years ago on Merric and Waverley bloodlines. Mr Googe said he owed a lot to the valuable assistance given him by Tony Lettice who was with Waverley stud and Craig Devine of MacCallum Inglis, Scone.
Queensland bullock breeders, the Liddle familys from Taroom and Wandoan, were keen on returning for Hereford and Angus sires and secured 13 bulls, paying to a top of $6000.
Jeff and Kym Liddle, Cedar Valley, Wandoan, secured eight (one Hereford and seven Angus) for a $3875 average including Brooksby New Day. Parents, Alex and Beth Liddle, bought two Angus at $4000 each and his brother, Mark and Kathy Liddle, purchased three Angus yearlings at $3000 each. The family run crossbreeding enterprises between Angus, Hereford, Charolais and Santa Gertrudis with 1000 breeders, turning off MSA grassfed bullocks as two-year-olds for Teys Australia.
The Lockyer family, The Retreat, Walcha, bought five Angus two-year-old bulls for a $4100 average.
Landmark and Armitage and Buckley, Armidale, held sale with auctioneers Joel Fleming and Luke Heagney.
