"Agriculture is a vibrant, global, and highly competitive industry" was the message NSW Farmers' president James Jackson highlighted at its conference networking event.

Mr Jackson said agriculture was well placed to become the next $100 billion industry and farmers across NSW would need the innovative thinking and skills of the next crop of young farmers and service providers.
"That's why we are proud to have provided these NSW Farmers' tertiary scholarships since 1993 and recognise the value of education to the future of agriculture," Mr Jackson said.
NSW Agriculture Minister Adam Marshall presented the awards to the association's five tertiary scholarship recipients at the WFI networking event at Luna Park.
The 2019 Tertiary Scholarship recipients this year are:
John White Memorial Scholarship: Charles Bermeier from Lockhart who is studying a Bachelor of Agriculture/Bachelor of Business at the University of New England.
E.L. O'Brien Scholarship: Siobhan Herbert from Eugowra who is studying a Bachelor of Economics and Arts at Sydney University.
Alan Chapman Memorial Scholarship: Nathaniel Deans from Baradine who is studying a Bachelor of Veterinary Biology / Bachelor of Veterinary Science at Charles Sturt University.
Graham Blatch Memorial Goobang Scholarship: Annabel Rodgers from Merriwa who is studying a bachelor of Food and Agribusiness at the University of Sydney.
Paul Lockyer Memorial Scholarship:Emma Rice from Parkes who is studying a Bachelor of Agriculture at the University of New England.
