Every golfer shot a three-over-par at the re-opening of the state's only desert golf course.
"We might need a few more obstacles, we made it a bit too easy," Nic Stevenson said.
Around 150 people teed off for the inaugural Tibooburra Butchering and Golf Day, which was planned because the region needed a "mental health day".
"It was a great weekend and we had a big turn out," Mr Stevenson said, who was a co-organiser for the event.
"It was exactly what it intended it to be and the best thing was the kids absolutely loved it.
"We were hoping to get the kids into it, so they were keen to come out again in November."
With no signs of the drought abating, the community held the event as a "complete distraction" from the dry.
It's the first time the golf course has been used in nearly 20 years.
In the lead up to the event, the community rallied to hold working bees to clean up the course.
They graded the fairways and cleaned up the club house, which had been home to livestock until a couple of weeks ago.
"It was good to hear people yahooing and cheering on the course," local Lorraine Kuerschner said.
"It was something different and a complete distraction."
The butchering was conducted by Mallee Meats, Mildura, who demonstrated the various cuts before they were cooked for the evening meal.
One of Australia's country music's premium vocalists and live performers Paul Costa entertained the crowd.
The next Tibooburra Butchering and Golf Fun Day will be held on November 16. It will be a night golf event with a camp oven cook-off.
Meanwhile the CWA branch of Tibooburra will host an outback formal on August 31.
