The Corrigan family sold all of the 146 bulls offered at their Rennylea Annual Spring Sale at Ellerslie Park, Culcairn to an average of $8,219 and top price of $21,000.

It was long-time client McRae Pastoral Company of Alexandra, Victoria who bought the top bull, Rennylea P34, sired by Rennylea L508 and out of Rennylea L74.
The 18-month-old heifer bull tipped the scales at 744 kilograms and was in the top five per cent in birth weight (+1.6), intramuscular fat (+3.7) and dollar indexes.
Ruth Corrigan of Rennylea said L508 was a bull they were using heavily, P34 one of eight sons of the sire in the sale draft.
"They're just moderate framed, slick skinned, good heifer bulls with good carcase data," Ms Corrigan said.
McRae Pastoral Company, Livestock Manager, Gina Lincoln, who was doing the bidding, said they had been chasing an out-cross bull for AI use in their herd and P34 was the right fit.
"He's in the top percentages for his carcase and we were looking for a low birth weight bull with a reasonable 200 and 400-day growth and not too big on his mature cow weight," Ms Lincoln said.
The second-top priced bull was Rennylea N455, bought by Gerald Spry of Sprys Shorthorn and Angus stud, Wagga Wagga for $20,000.
The two-year-old was by Rennylea Edmund E11 and out of Rennylea G371, with balanced estimated breeding values including an eye muscle area of +10.7 and IMF of +3.5.
The Webb family of Eddington Station, Camperdown, Victoria were one of the volume buyers of the day, purchasing seven bulls for a total of $60,000 and an average of $8,571.
Eddington Station manager, Tom Blackford said it was their second year purchasing bulls for Rennylea and it was the stud's structural assessments that attracted them.
"We have wet country so structure is very, very important to us," Mr Blackford said.
"We were also looking for moderate weights and 400-day growths."
Other volume buyers included Mt Bred Angus, Stirling Pastoral Company, Red Hill Agriculture, Malcolm Sinclair and Glendaloch Farms.
Ms Corrigan said they were thrilled with the sale result.
"The season's pretty tough in a lot of places so we're really thankful to all the bidders," Ms Corrigan said.
