A complete clearance of 4463 first cross ewes satisfied demand from prime lamb producers at 17th annual on-property spring sale account Doug and Heath Bruckner, Gnadbro Pastoral Company, Collingullie.
The April/May 2018 drop ewes, August-shorn and scanned empty were sired by Cadell Border Leicester rams from Merino ewes bred by Tupra Pastoral Company, Oxley.
The entire yarding averaged $276.
Top price at $330 was paid for 100 by a Cootamundra district producer, while other sales included $310 for 170, $300 for 687 and $295 for 240.
Vendor Heath Bruckner was very pleased with the result.
"It is always difficult to know what will happen but it was a great sale," he said.
"It has been a tough summer, but the sheep have grown out very well."
Many repeat buyers attended the sale, with ewes going to Cootamundra, Collingullie, Wagga Wagga, Albury, Warnambool and Tarwin Lower, Victoria.
The sale was conducted by Landmark, Wagga Wagga with Peter Cabot taking the bids.
