While the crippling effects of the drought continue to be felt throughout the state, it is important we do not forget about safety issues on the land, not the least of which is firearm safety.

Whether the need is to euthanise stock or control feral animals, firearm users need to be properly skilled for the task so animals do not suffer and safety is absolute.
The Firearm Safety and Training Council Ltd will be at the Australian National Field Days to speak with people about their shooting requirements.
"There are calls for kangaroo numbers to be reduced with a danger being that some of those offered the opportunity to cull do not have the appropriate skill level to ensure safety," Firearm Safety and Training Council chief executive Gary Bryant said.
"We strongly recommend if you require culling, you look for properly accredited harvesters who are required to shoot at an industry standard.
"We will be at ANFD to assist you through the maze of firearms regulations."
