However, Canberra Girls Grammar School (CGGS) student, Grace Kemp balances both with extraordinary ease.
Hailing from Murrumburrah, NSW, Grace started at CGGS as a boarder on a Scholarship in 2018.
Balancing Year 12 and also a flourishing sporting career, Grace's dreams have already begun to materialise.
A rugby fan from a young age, Grace's talent has already seen her represent the state at the age of 17.
"It means so much to me," Grace said.
"I used to come over and watch the men play with my dad and brothers.
"It's just amazing to be able to run out in this jersey and represent the state."
A recipient of the Gabriel Boarding Scholarship, Grace's education, sporting and social opportunities are fostered while living away from home.
CGGS has a long and proud tradition of providing education opportunities for regional students and will continue to do so through the 2021 CGGS scholarship and bursary program.
The program aims to support young women to pursue educational opportunities and honour and grow their achievements across a range of co-curricular areas.
"I feel very strongly that girls from regional, rural and remote areas should be given the same opportunities as their brothers to leverage their natural talents and to access a first class education," Grace said.
To open up a conversation with regional families and provide more information about the scholarship and Bursary program, CGGS will be hosting a Learning in Action display at the Murrumbateman Field Days on Saturday, and Sunday, October 19 and 20.
It will also host an information evening on Saturday, October 20, at Tootsie Gallery, Yass.
CGGS principal Anna Owen is looking forward to meeting families who are considering CGGS for their daughters' education, and members of the current CGGS community in the region.
