NSW Farmers is encouraging goat producers to take the opportunity to attend the Red Meat 2019 event in Tamworth from Monday, November 18 to Wednesday, November 20 to see the progress being made in red meat research and development.

The Goat Industry Council of Australia (GICA) and Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA) will both be conducting their Annual General Meeting's (AGM's) as part of the Red Meat 2019 program.

It is the annual flagship event for Australia's red meat industry, and one not to be missed.

GICA's meeting will occur on Monday, November 18 and the MLA meeting will take place on Wednesday, November 20.

Across the four days of Red Meat 2019, producers will have the opportunity to attend a range of events, from trade exhibitions and farm demonstrations to networking events and panel discussions.

The informative event provides goat producers with the chance to see the market development and research projects that their levy dollars fund.

It also provides producers with the opportunity to make vital connections with industry stakeholders and use some of the R&D content to apply on-farm.

Red Meat 2019 also provides a good reminder of the benefits of being a MLA member.

All goat producers that pay the goat livestock transaction levy are eligible to become a MLA member.

However, MLA membership is only finalised after completing the MLA member application.

Being an MLA member gives producers the opportunity to vote at the MLA AGM's.

This year MLA members will be asked to elect three directors to the MLA board with nominees including John Lloyd, Rob Fitzpatrick and Erin Gorter.

Those MLA members that cannot make the Tamworth meeting are reminded that the relevant proxy documentation must be completed by 3.30pm on Monday, November 18, 2019 to be valid.

To register your attendance to any of Red Meat 2019 events visit the Red Meat 2019 website by Friday, November 8.
