Train travel from Broken Hill to Sydney will be replaced by road coaches due to bushfire damage along the Western Line rail corridor.

Regional Transport and Roads Minister Paul Toole said the bushfires had damaged sections of track and signalling structures along the Western Line rail corridor.
With trains not running between Lithgow and Mt Victoria, Mr Toole said this means the Dubbo to Sydney XPT and the Broken Hill to Sydney EXPL services would be road coaches for the duration of the journey to ensure continuity of service.
"It is important we put the safety of customers and crew first, which is why the decision has been made to replace all western regional rail services until repairs are complete," Mr Toole said.
He said Bathurst customers would use buses to Mt Victoria where they would join electric services to Sydney adding there would also be a bus service between Lithgow and Mt Victoria.
"Customers are urged to plan ahead, allow extra time for their journey and if at all possible to delay non-essential travel," he said.
These changes to services are from December 31 until further notice.
