Three-year-old Wyatt Wythes gives a thumbs up for a firey. Wyatt lives right near the Kerry Ridge fire near Rylstone NSW, which has reached a massive 323,000 hectares. It has joined with the Gospers Mountain fire, which has grown to over half a million hectares. It is thanks to firefighters, along with property owners and managers, including his father, that the fire was stopped before it could burn more farmland.

Give a thumbs up for our firefighters and let them know how much we appreciate their efforts in fighting fires across the country.

If there is one thing that has shone through with the horrendous bushfires across NSW and Victoria, it is the amazing spirit shown by so many.

And our firefighters have been the epitome of this.

These brave men and women have left their own homes and families, and willingly put themselves in danger for their communities.

They have given their time, tireless effort and, in a few tragic cases, their lives to save homes, businesses, livestock, pets, native animals and lives.

We can never pay them back for what they have done.

But we can show them how much their dedication and sacrifice means to us.

So,The Land is inviting you to do one thing - give a thumbs up for a firey.

Snap a photo of yourself giving a thumbs up where firefighters have helped fight fires near you, and share it with us on Facebook and Twitter.

Give a thumbs up for a firey.
