The annual Macquarie Picnics were as always a great day out.
Abby Skinner from Mendooran and Michelle Meyers from Mudgee were named the best dressed filly and lady respectively, while the 2019 Three Rivers Machinery Macquarie Picnic Cup was once again won by a Rodney Robb, Nyngan-trained galloper.
This year it was Drummed Out who was ridden by Moruya-based jockey Maddison Wright.
At the end of the day's racing the My Pal Al Dust Dash (a novelty relay) provided lots of laughs for both the spectators and relay teams alike.
My Pal Al is a charity that was started by Annie Kennedy, from Trangie, who lost her dad in 2018 to lung cancer.
She created the charity as another chapter to her dad's story and her attempt to continue his legacy.
My Pal Al is a symbol of hope and strength for everyone to come together and share the memory of their loved ones.
It hopes to start a conversation of cure, share a message of prevention and spread a little bit of hope, so that the pain of losing a loved one is lessened.
The website for the charity is www.mypalal.com.au
