Plans are well underway for the National Angora Trophy Show and Sale (NATS) in 2020 to be held at the Peden Pavilion Goulburn Showgrounds, Goulburn NSW.
The show and sale will be held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, March 13-15.
Organisers believe it is the largest and most prestigious angora goat and mohair show in the country.
"The NATS 2020 stud judge and mohair fleece judge will be Jordi Van Hasselt from Van Hasselt Farming," Nick Gorrie said.
"Van Hasselt farming won the highly regarded Zegna Trophy for the best bale of kid mohair in the world in 2019.
"Jordi and Gay run one of the top angora goat studs in South Africa.
"Friday activities will include the youth show and judging mohair fleeces.
"In the youth show, we have Youth Judging, Led Paraders, School Show classes and the School Led Wether teams going onto Sydney show.
"Saturday will be the stud show so there is an opportunity to view some of the best goats in the country.
"At NATS, we will continue to have a hands-on approach with interested people able to inspect and open fleeces of the class winners.
"The mohair production championship is planned to go ahead, evaluating animals on fleece value and meat from the carcase which is assessed on the hoof.
"This year we will have a private treaty sale over the weekend.
"On Sunday we will start with the Youth Parading and then have an industry session that will involve a judging workshop."
