It's amazing what one image can say.
This afterglow scattered with hues of pink and purple, like brushstrokes across the sky, paints the perfect end to the day in the state's north west.
The image was captured by Tom Lampe of Bobbiwaa at Narrabri, in what he describes as an "opportunistic" moment in time, when he was re-seeding the seed box on Monday at 6pm.
It was the third photograph he had ever posted on Instragram but was met with an overwhelming response at its beauty.
"You get lots of opportunities on the plains when there is no one about, there are amazing sunsets and sunrises, it's not a bad job sometimes," Mr Lampe said.
Mr Lampe, who is sowing barley at the moment, said he was happy with the start they had in the season compared to last year.
"We hope it will be a softer planting year than previous years," he said.
