RECORD-MAKING history was created at Geurie last Saturday during the second Golden Collar working dog auction when 18 dogs sold to a top price of $17,050 and $5696 average - up $2256 on last year.
Seven Kelpies sold from $1700 to a record $17,050 while 11 Border Collies made from $2000 to $13,000 with 12 purchased through AuctionsPlus from 109 registered bidders and dogs went to new homes in NSW, Victoria and Queensland.
The sale, conducted by Carter Lindsay Weber, Dubbo, attracted 60 attendees with co-organiser Ryan Johnston saying the result surpassed all expectations.
