In response to increased pre-sale interest, Michael, Tom and Ashley Corkhill, Normanhurst Border Leicester stud, Boorowa penned a further 31 rams offering in total 121 for first-cross ewe breeders to consider.
A feature of the 16th annual on-property sale was the auction of Lot 10 in support of Ronald McDonald House Charities Australia, Canberra.
Stud co-principal Ashley Corkhill said his family are deeply appreciative of the support shown him and his wife Bernie during the health issues suffered by each of their four children when they were born.
"We've had a long association with Ronald McDonald House when our children have been in intensive care after their birth," he said.
"They really saved us and we just want to give back ... raising some money but also raising the awareness."
Their eldest son Billy recalled he and his siblings felt assured by having their parents close while they were in hospital.
"It was so lovely to be able to have your family stay with you," he said.
Of the 120 SuperBorders rams offered, top price was $13,500 with 120 sold for average price of $2086.
SuperBorders is the brand name for Border Leicester rams that are of high genetic merit for a first cross ewe production system.
The buyer of the top priced ram Tom Ferry, Carapugna Border Leicester stud, Geelong said he was really please to be able to purchase a ram of that calibre for his stud.
"I've been looking for a top sire and he really caught my eye," Mr Ferry said.
"He is a beautiful sheep with a great set of figures.
"I'm a big fan of what Ashley is doing and I think the ram will certainly add to the strength of my stud."
The auction was settled by Nutrien, Boorowa with Rick Power (Nutrien) and Ben Seaman (Elders) taking the bids.
