The top buyer was the Campbell family of Slap Dash Pty Ltd, neighbours who have been purchasing from Glanna since the stud was formed in the mid-1970s.

David Campbell said the top priced ram was a big bodied sheep, who was well covered and had very stylish wool.

The poll ram was by 149016 Glanna and had 18.3 micron, a standard deviation of 3.02, coefficient variance of 16.5, comfort factor of 99.9 and yearling weight of 69.5 kilograms.

He was one of nine the Campbells bought for an average of $2444. Mr Campbell said they ran a self-replacing Merino flock, with an average of 18 microns.

GJ and MJ O'Reilly, Gulgong bought the top-priced horned ram for $4250. The ram was by 176035 Glanna and had 17.8 microns, an SD of 3.29, CV of 18.48, CF of 99.85 and YWT of 74kg.

He was one of three the O'Reilly's took home on the day for an average of $2416.

There was also interest from Central Victorian clients, including fine wool breeder Barry Herbertson, Lexton who purchased two rams at the sale for an average of $2250.

The rams were in addition to three Mr Herbertson bought online from Glanna at the Hamilton Sheepvention this year.

"I've been buying from Glanna for 20 years," Mr Herbertson said.

"They're heavy wool cutters, with beautiful stylish wool.

"Ron Rayner knows more about putting wool on sheep then a lot of people will ever know."

EW Hayward and Sons, also from Central Victoria, at Burrumbeet bought five rams for an average of $1820.

Central West clients Bundi Partnership, Ullamalla also came home with five, for an average of $1600.

The sale was conducted by Nutrien Mudgee with Greg Hundy as auctioneer.
