Cattle sold on AuctionsPlus last week using a forward contract approach attracted strong competition and topped at 440c/kg.
Warren Coventry of Lynoch Pty Ltd at Armidale featured on last week's front page ahead of offering 240 head of his EU accredited feeder steers which would then be delivered on January 6.
A run of 70 Angus steers made 440c/kg and currently weighed from 361kg to 494kg. They were predicted to put on an additional kilogram a day.
A run of 89 Angus cross reached 420c/kg as did 150 Shorthorn cross steers.
RJ and AM Landers, Brumford, Glen Innes, also saw success with 84 Angus feeders from 418kg to 494kg making 435c/kg while another 84 steers from GA and KA Baker, Ben Lomond, made 433c/kg weighing 380kg to 494kg.
The selling method was used to capitalise on the current market incase it was impacted by absent summer rainfall and offload ahead of the Christmas shutdown.
