The peak of the market was back $100/hd in the steer, heifer and PTIC job while cows were also back $1000 on the previous week but those in attendance believed the market was consistent for what was on offer.
Local buyers in attendance were keen to secure stock before talk of a future wet change but they were met with competition from some outside buyers including Wilmot Cattle Co, Ebor.
Steers made from $350 to $1500 for a pen of well-bred Angus calves from Bluevale Pastoral, Loomberah but the majority sat around $1200 to $1300.
Females again kept with the pace and sold from $410 to $1600 for quality Santas from the Fallowfield family with many averaging at $1300.
As usual pregnancy tested in calf females were sought after and reached $2690 for Bruella Park's Speckle Park but averaged around the $2000 mark.
Cows and calves made to $3200, averaging $3000.
Among those who were buying up ahead of the Christmas shutdown were Richard and Robyn Whalen of Turrawarra at Yarrowtich.
They secured 42 Santa cross steers from TJ Obrien Investments for $1420/hd and another nine Charolais infused steers for $1460/hd.
Mr Whalen said they mainly bought British bred cattle but the Santa line were of quality.
