Last Friday's Dubbo store cattle sale yarding 1300 head attracted a good sized crowd of willing-to-buy spectators pushing steers and heifer weaner prices to $30 dearer than the previous sale.

Steer weaners sold from $500 for very light and young Brahman-cross calves to $1400 a head for good quality Hereford steers. The better quality steer weaners sold from 600 cents per kilogram to 725c/kg with most selling at rates in excess of 600c/kg, according to the MLA National Livestock Reporting Service.
Plainer quality calves sold from 400c/kg to 530c/kg.
Steer yearlings made from $1120 to $1400/head.
Heifer weaners sold from $580 for young crossbred calves to $1280 for very nice quality Hereford-Angus cross heifers. The better quality light weight heifer weaners sold from 550c/kg to 675c/kg while the plainer quality calves sold from 400c/kg to 510c/kg.
Heifer yearlings sold from $1100 to $1380 while a small pen of Friesian heifers PTIC sold at $1060 each
Best of the cows with calves was a pen of Charbray cows with good sized calves at foot selling for $2190 while the balance of cow/calf units sold from $970 for very light crossbreds to $2090 for Bos Indicus cross units in fresh condition.
A pen of Hereford-Friesian cross cows PTIC sold at $1825 while two other pens of PTIC cows sold for $930 and $1420/head.
