For the second year in a row the Wingham Beef Week will move solely to a carcase competition having called off the week long event for 2021.
Ongoing uncertainty in relation COVID-19 and event restrictions were the reasons behind the decision to cancel the educational event which is a highlight for many students.
Last year organisers were forced to cancel their usual schedule but still offered a carcase competition for exhibitors who no longer had their normal avenues to offload show steers.
Wingham Beef Week president Matt Martin said in a statement that the 2021 event would most likely take place on May 16.
"The Beef Week committee wants to assure participants that this was not an easy decision and that once COVID-19 is behind us that Wingham Beef Week will return bigger and better then ever," he said.
More details about the carcase competition and schedule will be released in the coming weeks.
