Trial exhibitors may have missed out on a mouthwatering dinner cooked by chef Sam Burke this year but that didn't stop them from enjoying the full presentation experience from the comfort of their homes.
COVID-19 restrictions not only cancelled the traditional feedlot open day but so to the presentation dinner held in January at Wagga Wagga.
As a result Australian Community Media broadcast the results live across The Land, Stock and Land and Livestock Connect websites and Facebook pages on Tuesday night.
On the first night alone the streams had 3841 views as people from across the country tuned in to hear the results.
Event organiser and ACM National Livestock Advertising manager Brett Tindal said although this year's event was forced online, the aim was to hold the event in person next year as it allows the exhibitors to talk, network and discuss their data amongst themselves, but also with the experts in the room.
"The event has become an industry event marked on the calendar every year," he said.
"Going online had its challenges and thanks to a great team behind us we were able to deliver a great experience for the people that had an interest in the trial.
"Even though we moved to an online announcement, we took the opportunity to expose the trial and the competition to a wider audience using The Land, Stock and Land and Livestock Connect website and Facebook platforms to broadcast the announcement, which met an audience of more than 3000 people on the night tuning in to watch.
"This helps grow the brand of the trial and hopefully encourage a wider base of entrants later in the year for next year's trial."
