RAM values rose last Friday by $770 on last February's Narranmore Poll Dorset sale, this year averaging $1781 for 58 rams sold of 68, all heading to return buyer homes.

The Elong Elong- based stud flock of Ian and Christine O'Leary and family offered Spring 2019 drop rams from the top genetics of Tattykeel and Hillden studs weighing from 90 to 122 kilograms.
Paul McGirr's management team picked out four rams with the desired traits for continuing the second-cross prime lamb production at Wongaboori, Mendooran, is noted for.
They included the 122kg sale-topper at $2800 and another at $2600 plus two more which averaged $2300.
Wongaboori manager, John Hunter, said he had been buying rams at each of the Narranmore stud sale since 2000and is currently running 1500 first-cross ewes and currently have 1600 second-cross lambs nearly ready to go to market as suckers over the hooks or let the lighter ones grow heavier for sale at eh Dunedoo yards.
"We buy at the top-end of the catalogue to produce top-quality lambs," Mr Hunter said.
"Since using Narranmore rams we have built up of lambing percentages to 150pc this year past lambing."The Sullivan family, Mount Marlowe, Dunedoo, secured the second-top-priced ram among their trio which averaged $2200.The $2700 money was paid for a ram weighing 111kg.
Four rams averaging $1950 were secured by Lyndon, Wendy and Anthony James, Springvale Pastoral, Coolah, who paid up to $2000 twice.
Returning after the drought was John Luckie and son, Mark of Blairgowrie Pastoral Company, Mendooran, who purchased eight rams for a $1813 average and topping at $2000.
The Luckies are now running 1300 Merino/White Suffolk and Merino/Border Leicester cross ewes in their second-cross prime lamb production program.
Among other return buyers was John O'Leary, Rocklands, Ballimore, who paid an average of $1780 fr five rams topping at $2100 twice, while Norm Royal, Hillside, Gollan, bought five rams paying to $$1900 twice and a $1760 average.
Maryvale near Wellington district breeder Tom Whiteley, bought six rams for a $1767 average with two topping at $2000 for the family's Dunbell property, and Simon and Pip Archer, Moronga, Merrygoen, secured seven rams for a $1371 average and paying a top of $1600 tree times.
The sale was conducted by Milling Stuart, Dunedoo, with Jamie Stuart the auctioneer.
