IT MAY have been a smaller yarding than last sale, but prices strengthened at the Dungog store cattle sale last Friday.
A total of 190 head were offered, made up mostly of weaner steers and heifers.
Weaner steers ranged from about $1275 to $1790 and weaner heifers sold from $1290 to $1900.

A line of 12 steers sold by the Raines family, Mashdale, topped the sale at $1790, while 37 Angus weaner steers offered by Raglan Pastoral Company, Raglan, peaked at $1720 for an overall average of $1638.
Dillon and Sons stock agent Paddy Dillon, Dungog, said young steers and heifers made up the majority of the market.
"There really wasn't too many cows or pregnancy-tested-in-calf cows on offer at this sale," Mr Dillon told The Land.
"However, the cattle we did have there were of really good quaility and we did achieve a 100 per cent clearance rate.
"One of the highlights was a run of 18 nine-month-old angus heifer weaners offered by W and D Gorton of Glen Martin, which topped the market at $1900/hd."
Dungog will host its next sale on Friday, May 7 from 11.30am it will be its annual Angus sale with more than 150 head already booked in for auction.
