The Tarcutta Campdraft returned with a bang last weekend, the event rescheduled to May after the usual October long-weekend event was cancelled due to COVID-19 last year.

Tarcutta Campdraft Club secretary Irene Hopkins, who has been involved in the club for more than 30 years, said the campdraft was more popular than ever, with the 1400 entries having to be cut down to 900 this year.
"They're getting a lot larger, an average draft you would have 800 runs for a weekend," Ms Hopkins said.
"It is a family atmosphere, that's what keeps people going."
The Tarcutta Campdraft Club is part of the Southern Campdraft Association, which has an average 12 per cent growth in members each year.
Ms Hopkins said a lot of work was involved in the campdraft each year, from getting the ground right (a challenge this year due to the 30mm received before the event) to organising the cattle and the entries.
"It's very, very hectic, but very, very rewarding," she said.
