At Glen Innes on Monday Greg and Sally Chappell of Dulverton Angus broke every record they had when the top priced bull sold for $31,000 and the whole draft of 88 bulls offered sold for an average of $15,159.

Last year snow and sleet covered Shannon Vale station while this year warm weather welcomed a bumper crowd for the 40th anniversary sale.
Elite Livestock Auctions underpinned the sale with prolific buying support and ended up securing 15 bulls through the platform.
The top priced bull Dulverton Quality Touch Q253 a son of Carabar Gun Smoke J134 who weighed 890 kilograms, had an average daily weight gain of 1.29 kilograms per day and growth figures in the top 5 per cent was knocked down for $31,000 to David and Ben Wirth, Wirth Cattle Company, Glen Elgin.
"He is an outstanding bull, that moves so well and has a strong top," Mr Wirth said.
He's got good early growth that we require to turn off heavy feeders and will be used over the Wirth families Angus and Simangus cows.
They also secured Dulverton Quantum Q059 for $20,000.
Volume buyer was Michael Gallagher, Plumthorpe Pastoral, Barrabra, who bought 11 bulls to top at $16,000 four times and average $14,727.
James Speed, Goodliffe Grazing Company, Springsure, secured 10 bulls to average $13,000.
The Speed family are long time supporters of Dulverton genetics whose purchases will be joined to heifers.
" We bought bulls with low birth weight, ease of calving in mind and from proven genetic lines," Mr Speed said.
Lachlan and Trudy Mace of Redridge Grazing, Toorilla, secured the second top priced bull Dulverton Quality Control Q092 for $26,000.
The bull by the Esslemont Lotto who has left a huge mark on the Dulverton herd was a full brother to home bred sire Dulverton New Approach N208 who had 13 sons feature in the sale.
Sylvester Pastoral Company, Arcadia Station, Injune, Qld secured three bulls for an average of $18,333.
They bought three of the 12 yearlings on offer which Included in the $20,000 Dulverton Rocketman R111.
The McKinlay family, "Callandoon", Emerald who are long time supporters of the Dulverton program were successful in securing three sires to a $19,333 average.
The $24,000 top priced yearling bull Dulverton Red Handed R144 was included in the Mckinlay's draft who was a son of Dulverton Peter Pan and had the highest weight of any yearling weighing in a 520 kilograms.
Long time local repeat buyers Valma Partnership secured three bulls also for an $18,000 average.
Vendor Greg Chappell was blown away by the result and was so thank full to everyone for the support shown.
" We never expected this result but it's fantastic so see our genetics rewarded and our program bought into by so many," he said.
The sale was settled by Colin Say and Co with Shad Bailey as auctioneer.
