The NSW Rural Crime Prevention Team is investigating the incident which occurred on a Wallangara Road property on the afternoon of August 5.
Police were alerted to the incident after a sheep producer discovered several badly injured Merino hoggets on their property.
The sheep all had facial injuries, which investigators believe were consistent with being attacked by a dog or multiple dogs.

Out of the attacked sheep, four had to be euthanised due to the extent of their injuries.
It is unknown if the injuries were caused by wild or domestic dogs.
Owners of domestic dogs, which are caught attacking livestock, could face on-the-spot fines.
Police are reminding everyone to ensure their dogs cannot wander onto neighboring properties where livestock is being held.
