Strong support from feedlots underpinned the store cattle sale at NVLX Wodonga today, where 1500 head of mixed quality store cattle were yarded.

A long tail of very light conditioned cattle was noticeable and overall, the trend for the better conditioned pens sold to a consistently strong demand.
Values for steers weighing 300-400kg ranged from $1740 (304kg) to $2460 when Hill and Dale Farming Pty Ltd, Burrumbuttock, yarded 18 Angus weighing 374kg.
Those steers under 300kg topped at $2060 for 27 Angus sold on account Jolly Beef, Mitta Mitta, Victoria: while heavy steers sold from $2100 (430kg) to $2850, when Alison Earp, King Valley, Vic., offered 12 Angus weighing 609kg.
In the heifer pens weighing 300-400kg, values ranged from $1780 (316kg) to $2240 for six Limousin weighing 393kg: while those under 300kg sold from $1560 (212kg) to $1765 when Kevin Jackson, Tallangatta, Vic., penned 12 Herefords weighing 280kg.
Heifers weighing over 400kg sold from $2000 (403kg) to $2300 when Lancoona Partnership, Bungowannah, yarded 11 Fernhill-blood Angus weighing 468kg.
There were some very good pens of breeders on offer, with cows with calves selling from $2980 to $3900 when Woolamia Pastoral Co., Finley, yarded 57 Iveragh-blood Angus with one to two month calves and not-station-mated.
Very good sales of steers included $2420 when BC and AJ Brooks, Talmalmo, Vic., penned 23 Angus weighing 399kg: Stewart Scott Nominees, Tocumwal, received $2150 for 16 Angus weighing 337kg and C Hall, Buckland, Vic., sold 13 black baldies weighing 338kg for $2350.
Other steer sales included eight Limousin weighing 468kg sold by D and C Pearce, Wymah and $2250 for 22 Eurimbah-blood Red Poll weighing 420kg offered by Ian and Jill Coghlan, Gerogery.
Indicative sales of heifers included 12 Charolais weighing 350kg offered by Magic Glenn Farms, Bowna, sold for $2120: ten Injemira-blood Herefords weighing 465kg sold by DA Young, Ensay, Vic., for $2220 and 14 Angus weighing 313kg sold by Corrections Victoria, Beechworth, Vic., for $1940.
Sales of cows with calves included 14 Herefords, rising two years, NSM and with Limousin calves sold for $3360 on account Whitestock Agriculture, Tocumwal and $3675 for 10 Bogey Creek-blood Angus sold on account Alison Earp, King Valley, Vic.
Besides the incessant bidding on behalf of feedlots, Victoria restockers from Myrtleford and Shepparton, were active competing with local restockers and buyers from Holbrook and Bathurst.
Wodonga-based agencies Elders and Paull and Scollard Nutrien conducted the sale.
