There were some very good pens of yearling steers and heifers penned, and a featured run of depastured females offered by Mitchell Drummond, Kiewa, Victoria.
Sales of steers weighing 300-400kg ranged from $1910 (307kg) to $2400 when Henry Collins, Stanley, Vic, sold 19 Angus weighing 382kg and also when JC and RC Scales, Dartmouth, Vic., offered 20 Glenellerslie-blood Herefords weighing 389kg.
Steers over 400kg sold to $2520 (646kg) with most in the range of $2160 to $2495: and steers under 300kg sold to $1880 (296kg).
In the heifer pens, values for those weighing 300-400kg varied from $1850 (331kg) to $2150 when PC and RL Hibberson, Indigo Valley, Vic., offered nine Limousin cross weighing 392kg: while those under 300kg sold to $1950 when Mitchell Drummond, yarded 24 Angus weighing 283kg.
The few pens of heifers over 400kg sold to $2260 when Browning Cattle Partnership, Coral Bank, Victoria, penned 11 Charolais weighing 411kg.
Cows with calves sold from $3475 to $3940 when Ferndale Pastoral Trust, Tallangatta, Vic, yarded four Angus with calves four to six weeks old.
Depastured cows sold to $3150, while PTIC Angus heifers sold to $2400.
Indicative sales of steers included $2190 for 14 Murray Grey's weighing 387kg sold on account Jones Winery and Vineyard, Rutherglen, Vic: $2310 for five Angus weighing 375kg offered by Paul Carkeek, Cudgewa, Vic., and $2355 for 19 Charolais weighing 398kg offered by D and L Rogers, Bega.
Sales of grown steers included $2510 for 12 Angus weighing 473kg sold by Carbery Estate, Holbrook: $2495 for eight Ardrossan-blood Angus weighing 479kg offered by Sutton Park, Tintaldra, and $2385 for seven Shorthorn's weighing 414kg penned by Sherminga Shorthorns, Seymour, Vic.
Indicative sales of heifers included $2100 for 14 Herefords weighing 399kg offered by Peter McCormack, Bullioh, Vic: $2090 for five Angus weighing 383kg offered by Brian McFarland, Bethanga, Vic., and $2140 for 26 Angus weighing 373kg sold on account DD and JR Star, Bungil, Vic.
Sales of heifers under 300kg included 12 Limousin weighing 245kg sold by Joseph Klippel, Berringama, Vic., and $1835 for seven Angus weighing 285kg sold by Paul Phillips, Wodonga, Vic.
Vendors of cows and calves included Livestock Pastoral, Undera, who sold 12 Hereford/Shorthorn cross for $3900 and a pen of seven black baldies for $3475.
Dispersing his herd, Mitchell Drummond, Kiewa, Vic., sold 11 Angus cows weighing 575kg and depastured to Oswall Angus bulls in June for $3150 while his other pen of 20 black baldies weighing 581kg and also depastured sold for $3100.
Wodonga-based agencies Corcoran Parker, Peter Ruaro Livestock, Schubert Boers and BUR conducted the sale.
