Carbon farming advisory firm, RegenCo, has appointed former primary industries minister Niall Blair to the role of chief executive officer.

Co-founder and executive chair Rick Klink said RegenCo had secured an experienced senior, government and private sector executive in Mr Blair, ready to become Australia's leading natural capital business.
Mr Blair replaces outgoing CEO, Dr Tim Moore, who will now work closely with Mr Blair as the company's head of strategy and science.

"Since launching RegenCo three years ago we have become a leader in creating sustainable solutions for landholders, allowing them to diversify income and improve environmental resilience," Mr Klink said.
"To meet national sustainability targets and keep pace with an accelerating movement around climate change, we want to ensure we have the best leadership team to grow and deliver our strategic outcomes."

Mr Blair said he was honoured to join such an outstanding team of specialists at RegenCo, who are revolutionising the industry's approach to carbon farming.
"We are at a turning point - innovation and technology is now at a capability that allows us to position landholders at the forefront of Australia's climate transition," Mr Blair said.
"Our goal is to diversify - we still want farmers to be able to do what they do best - what we will offer alongside that is design natural capital projects that strengthens their enterprise management plan and creates new revenue opportunities.
Mr Blair brings experience to the role of senior government and private sector executive, with an understanding of agribusiness and global markets.
Mr Blair served as a senior member of the NSW Parliament for nine years in which he was NSW Minister for Primary Industries, Water, Lands, Trade and Industry and Deputy Leader of the Government in the Legislative Council.
More recently he acted as chairman and non-executive director for the NSW Biodiversity Conservation Trust, responsible for ensuring the NSW environment was protected, productive and resilient.
