In early March, Algeria bought about 600,000 to 700,000 tonnes of milling wheat at US$485/t (C&F) for May shipment, which was up from recent prices.

Algeria's demand for grain continues to grow, with its state-owned grain agency - the Algerian Interprofessional Office of Cereals (OAIC) - reportedly finalising the purchase of between 570,000 and 600,000 tonnes of optional origin milling wheat late last week.
