THE RAS Angus Sale celebrated a full clearance of 13 live lots and seven embryo packages, with the a top price of $18,000 achieved.
Just three lots into the sale which followed the Angus breed judging on April 10, the sale high bid was placed by Giles Partnership at Ilford for the reserve junior champion bull, Diamond Redemption R423 offered by Christie Fuller of Diamond Angus stud, Cowra.
Weighing 940 kilograms, the 18-month-old had an eye muscle area of 140 centimetres and fat measurement of 19 millimetres and 11mm on the rump and rib.
The son of Black Diamond Never Ever N436 and Black Diamond MS H24 Murdeduke L502 had been successfully shown previously winning interbreed champion bull at Lang Lang Show in Victoria and top five in the junior bull jackpot at the Royal Canberra Show.
As a first-time vendor, Ms Fuller said she was very happy with the results.
Demand for stud heifers was evident with strong results including Trowbridge BBB Prue S19 offered by Trowbridge BBB Angus, Orange, selling for a top of $16,000 to an AuctionsPlus buyer through McDonald Lawson and Carter, Mudgee.
The 11-month-old heifer was a daughter of Millah Murrah Paratrooper P15.
Entering the sale since 2004, Chris Garvin of Trowbridge BBB said he hoped the cattle would sell well and they did with their five heifers averaging $11,200.
Embryo packages topped at $1600 per embryo, twice, and average $1342/embryo. The first top-priced package consisted of four Moogenilla Quinella Q33/Booragul Glaze L64 embryos, purchased by JT Haycock, Yeoval, and the second was for a pack of four Moogenilla Quinella Q33/Booragul Glaze L110, purchased through Nutrien Ag Solutions, Echuca. Both packages were offered by Booragul Angus, Piallaway.
Two lots were offered by Yamba Angus, Orange, where the successful purchaser was able to select one heifer from a group of three. Both were bought by EJ Angus, Pakenham, Vic, which selected Yamba Jilly R145 and Yamba Lakato S4.
Auctioneer Lincoln McKinlay from selling agents Elders stud stock said the sale was very strong with lots sold to four states.
