VC Umpire rules the Simmental ring at Canberra Royal 2024

VC Umpire, exhibited by Samantha and Stuart Moeck, VC Simmentals, Binda, claimed the supreme ribbon under the eye of judge Steve Crowley, Tycolah Poll Herefords, and associate judge Nathan Hindmarsh, Braidwood.

The 12 month-old bull was sired by FGAF Electric Avenue 140E and out of FGAF Kananaskis 096F.

He was described by Mr Hindmarsh to be a "really nice young bull" who was structurally correct, had a lot of power, a strong backline and was smooth over the shoulders.

Mr Crowley said the supreme bull, carried himself well, had a beautiful carcase with enough coverage and muscle that had to be admired.

"He'll go onto become a really good bull," he said.

"He's quite exciting for the breed."

Exhibitor Mr Moeck said the bull was the direct progeny from the flush out of a Canadian cow.

"He's the only one of that genetic makeup in Australia," he said.

"We like him for the extra softness and temperament."

VC Umpire claimed junior champion bull over the reserve Tennysonvale Tikardo, exhibited by the Baldry Family, Tennysonvale Simmental Fleckviehs, Illabo.

He then proceeded to win the supreme ribbon over the grand champion female Tennysonvale Target, also exhibited by the Baldry family.

The 19 month-old grand champion female was sired by Tennysonvale Quality and out of Tennysonvale Rivulet Margarette.

Tennysonvale Target took out the junior champion over reserve Tennysonvale Tessa, also exhibited by the Baldry family, before claiming grand over the senior champion female VC Cream Soda T035 exhibited by TAFE NSW Richmond College, Richmond.

The reserve senior champion female was awarded to VC Hyacinths exhibited by TAFE NSW Richmond College, Richmond.
