The 2024 sale will see 18 vendors, including six that are making their debut, offer 17 bulls, 25 females, four genetic lots and six trade animals.
National Show and Sale chairman Garry Hedger said the event has been running for close to 40 years and has consistently provided a top opportunity for veterans and newcomers to the breed to source quality Limousin seedstock genetics from some of the leading studs in the country.
Last year stock sold into NSW, Victoria, South Australia, and Tasmania.
"All stock are scanned, weighed and vet checked and are sold with the National Show and Sale warranty," Mr Hedger said.
He said there have been two notable changes to the event format this year.
"The entire National Show and Sale will be held on one day this year, as opposed to three days, and we've included trade animals in the catalogue.
"These steers and heifers can be entered into carcase competitions for upcoming shows later in the year.
"We believe these changes will make it easier for purchasers to assess and buy animals on the same day while providing more choice."
Last year's sale was held on the edge of the downturn for all livestock markets however bulls and females each topped at $11,000 and Mr Hedger said those who secured stock were "happy with their purchases".
He said seasonal conditions have varied enormously for the sale vendors spread between NSW, Vic, SA and WA.
"The season in Holbrook leading up to December was wet with good growth., though January and February started to warm up and dry off.
"There's still good dry feed in paddocks and the stock are in good condition. Western Victoria has been very dry."
Those who can't attend this year's sale in person can livestream the event via the Limousin National Facebook page or AuctionsPlus, the latter of which through bids can be made.
The catalogue will be available online via the Limousin Australia website, or catalogues can be obtained by contacting Nutrien Livestock.
The show judge for this year is Rob Hutchinson, Taminick, Vic and his associate judge is Emily Polsen, Yass, NSW.
Nominated animals will be judged in a variety of sections, including led bulls; led females; potential led show steer/trade heifer; genetic packages comprising of flushes, embryos, semen, and pick of the drop. Entries for these sections will consist of French Pure and purebred Limousin cattle.
Presale inspections will start from 3pm on Thursday, April 18.
The inspections will be followed by the annual Limousin National Show and Sale dinner, which will be held at the Holbrook RSL Club from 7pm.
"This year will see a heifer generously donated by the Lonaker stud in WA sold to benefit Black Dog Ride.
"We're delighted to be partnered with Black Dog Ride to raise funds for their important work, as depression is an issue that impacts farming communities."
