In a first for the Herefords Australia National Show and Sale at Dubbo the events will be held on a single day.
On Tuesday June 4 at 8am the judging will kick off at the Dubbo Showgrounds with the sale to follow in the afternoon.
This year 64 Poll Hereford bulls will step into the ring for judging, and the sale.
Dubbo National bull sale chairman Andrew Rayner said while numbers were down due to the season, top-quality bulls would be on offer.
"It is the benchmark for polled bulls in the country," Mr Rayner said.
"There will be top-quality stud bulls and to follow on from that, the commercial offering will be as good as you are going to find anywhere as well. You don't get those top-end stud bulls without some good commercial bulls to follow in behind them."
He said the one-day format should be "better for everybody" with the dry season making it hard for farmers to head off-farm.
Herefords Australia events and youth co-ordinator, Katelin Davies, Meadows, SA, said there was 24 vendors at the sale from across NSW, South Australia, Queensland and Victoria.
Independent vet checks would also be carried out on site this year.
"In the past breeders would do them at home and bring their certificate from the vet, but this year we'll be following what they do at Wodonga (Herefords Australia National Show and Sale) providing a more consistent appraisal of the bulls," Ms Davies said.
As at Wodonga Estimated Breeding Values (EBVs) would be used to assist the judge in placing the exhibits.
The judge this year will be Steve Reid, Talbalba Herefords, Millmerran, Queensland.
Mr Reid bought the top-price bull last year, the reserve champion Supermarket Index bull Ravensdale Guardian M222 (ET) (P) with Mark Duthie, Callaway stud, Dalby, Queensland.

A previous Herefords Australia chairman and board member, Mr Reid said he has a commercial focus when judging in the ring, formed during his time with the association which saw him spend time at feedlots, abattoirs and with scientists.
"That really changed the way I look at cattle and I got a lot of experience during my time on the Hereford board," Mr Reid said.
"It made me more concerned about the way cattle performed in a feedlot and across the hooks.
"I look for cattle that will fit easily into the commercial market, cattle that carry strong carcase traits and that are practical cattle to run in the paddock."
The sale will be conducted by Landmark and Elders and will be interfaced with AuctionsPlus.
