A SMALLER yarding of just 840 head were offered at the Central Tablelands Livestock Exchange near Carcoar last Friday.
Meat and Livestock Australia estimated the prices slipped about $50 to $80 a head as a results of the smaller supply, however this was coming off a much dearer run of markets so far this year.
Weaner steers up to 280 kilograms sold from $1210 to $1455 and in cents a kilogram topped at 701c/kg.
The 281kg to 330kg weaner steers sold from $1370 to $1685, while those heavier than 330kg ranged from $1585 to $1850.

Yearling steers ranged from $1570 to $1830, and yearling heifers attracted bids from $1465 to $1820.
Pregnancy-tested-in-calf heifers were in limited supply and snapped up quickly for between $1500 and $2350.
Cow with calves were firm in value with most selling for $2500 to $3100 a unit after reaching a top of $3450/unit for heavy Angus cows with calves.
There was the odd pen for less than $2500/unit, however these were mostly lighter cows with young calves (less than two months) at foot.
