NSW exhibitors were dominant throughout the competition, with several of the champion sashes presented to studs from the state.
It was eight-year-old Kody Stevens of TwoJay Poll Herefords, Orangeville that was unstoppable throughout the classes with his 19-month-old Poll Hereford heifer Twojay 44D Rhythm R1.
Claiming senior and grand champion female, the daughter of US sire TH 529B 145Y Explorer 44D and out of TwoJay 2012 Rhythm N1 was described by Ms Rushton as the "complete package."
"A powerhouse of a female with depth, capacity and femininity all rolled into one. Beautiful spring of rib with a strong top line and a maternal appeal about her," she said.
She was destined for the National Hereford Youth Heifer Expo before it was cancelled, but was shown at the Hawkesbury Show where she was the reserve junior champion of the any other breeds class and helped Kody win his paraders division championships.
Kody's success did not stop there with his heifer also claiming champion bred and owned, ahead of the reserve Mervale Black Pearl Q5, a Limousin from Mervale Limousins, Mount Kilcoy, Qld that was also reserve senior champion.
Reserve grand champion female went to the intermediate champion heifer Palgrove Refine R164E, a Charolais exhibited by Blue Gene Cattle Company, Parkville that also won the jackpot section.
Reserve intermediate champion was Ceder Lane Suva Bossa, a Brahman heifer exhibited by Queensland stud Ceder Lane and Ego Brahmans, Gympie.
Junior champion female went to Summit Mimi R41 exhibited by Hayden and Jasmine Green, Summit Livestock, Uranquinty. Reserve junior went to Ganado Anna 5th, a Murray Grey heifer from Courtney Hazeldeane, Ganado Murray Greys, Marong, Vic.
The best fitted heifer was awarded to Elwanvale Royal Justice exhibited by Elwanvale Limousins, Allora, Qld.
