G'day, I am Molly Wright and in April, I was named The Land Sydney Royal AgShows NSW Young Woman for 2022.

I am 23 years old and work full-time as the livestock manager where I grew up on my family's farm 15 kilometres west of Peak Hill.
I was so proud to represent Peak Hill in the Young Woman Program (formerly the Showgirl Competition) at the Sydney Royal Easter Show this year.
I love the farm, living in Peak Hill and our small community, and always looked up to the showgirls and the program, but I never thought I would be able to enter and make it as far as I did.
I hope to make the most of this awesome opportunity offered by The Land to myself and 2022 RM Williams RAS Rural Achiever Jessica Fearnley, who is a great role model and ambassador for the agricultural industry, to write a regular column.
In the coming months, I would like to make myself known to readers, talk about the program and pay tribute to the people who make this initiative possible.
I hope you enjoy following my journey, the people I meet along the way, and the shows I have been honoured to attend, judge, officially open and support, alongside the 14 other NSW state finalists who competed at Sydney Royal and are now travelling NSW to support our rural shows.
I want to use this space to write about the successes or issues I see "on the ground" in our rural communities, get our voices out there and heard, and bring recognition to the rural and regional communities that deserve it the most.
I hope you stay tuned, talk to me if you see me out at an event, and hopefully inspire others to jump in and have a go too!
It was a privilege to be named the inaugural NSW Young Woman after the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW (RAS) elected to change the name of the program from the Showgirl Competition in 2021.
As someone who embraces change, I hold great respect and admiration for the traditions and passion for this program, as it is those traditions that have got us here today!
But the motive for the program still remains - to recognise, develop and celebrate young women in rural and regional NSW - the new title captures this, and I am proud to represent this program.
Thank you my Peak Hill community and family for supporting me, the cracking AgShows NSW board, RAS and the sponsors such as The Land for being a driving force behind these programs and making them happen!
We all experience and witness first-hand the passion, inspiration and confidence it ignites in young women, and the relationships and networks you call on beyond this program are priceless.
Since Sydney Royal I have travelled to the Ekka, Brisbane, and many of our rural shows, including Peak Hill, Tullamore, Trundle, Parkes, Forbes, Warren, Gilgandra, Tamworth, Narromine, Orange, Dubbo and Condobolin.
My ultimate goal is to meet and encourage other young women to not only follow their passions in their rural or regional communities, but to join the Young Woman program, and reassure them we are regular people, we don't have everything all worked out, we are just putting our hand up, having a go and hoping to make a difference.
So, my goal is to keep it real. This program wants young women who are ambassadors for all young women in rural and regional NSW - so back yourself! Reach out, put your hand up and we'll learn together on the run.
