Only 150 head were yarded last Friday, down from 250 at November's sale, but a line of black Angus cows with calves topped the market at $3650.
The 52 two- to eight-year-old cows with three- to four-month-old calves were the feature of sale and averaged $2800.

Thomas Livestock stock agent Neil Thomas, Branxton, said while the cows on offer were of high quality, the 25 head of steers were "a little disappointing".
"All told, there were only about three pens of steers on offer, a few crossbred steers and one pen of heifers," Mr Thomas said.
"Those older cows provided some value for money as Glen William from the Lower Hunter topped the market with their heifers.
"There were some really good black Angus cows and heifers, which I think were of a really high quality."
The peak of the prices were back by about $100/head in the cow and heifer market, while Mr Thomas said the limited number of steers were "about on par" and 30 pregnancy-tested cows fetched between $1160 and $1600.
"The clearance rate was 100 per cent and once again restockers made up the majority of the market," Mr Thomas said.
"Recent rain continues to drive the demand for restockers and I think that, coupled with the high quality, was why the cows with calves went so well during this sale.
"However, it was a small yarding because the year is winding up and most people were probably looking to next year.
"We'll now take a bit of a break with the next store sale in Singleton being on the second Friday in February."
